A couple of years ago, I decided to investigate my family history.  After days of research, I was able to trace the Boggess Family history  back to 1690 AD. But my travels back into time did not stop there. I wanted to learn more, so I dug deeper and for the longest time, I ran into dead ends  (no pun intended).

Then one day, I discovered a maternal link that took me back - and  back - and back - into time. Much to my surprise I discovered that there was tons of royalty in the family history; and dozens of ancestors with less than stellar back grounds.

One of the biggest difficulties in tracing the ancestors is the  spelling of the last name. Historically there are over 200 different  spellings of "Boggess". In fact, even today there are different  pronunciations of the name.

I'm a title. Click here to add your own text and edit me.

Present Day Royal Connection

It is reported that over 1 million people in the United States are  related to European Royalty. The Boggess Family is one of those. Queen Elizabeth II is my 34th cousin, meaning that she and I share the  same grandfather 34 generations back -- Duke Richard I of Normandy. Duke Richard was the grandfather of William the Conquer who ended up become King of England.

For reference, through the remaining portion of this website, generation reference will be, for example for 34th Grandfather will be [34GF] for grandfather and GM for grandmother.
