PRE-CHARLEMAGNE
If we trace back this side of the Boggess Family Tree back this far it appears that we can go all the way back to Plaserio III, King of Cimmerians in 625 BC – 92 generations. The truth of the matter is, however, there are no reliable records going back this far and what records that do exist contradict each other or are mixed in with the mythology of the era.
So, how far can we reliably go back on this side of the Boggess Family Tree? It looks like we can go back to around 264 AD with King Clodius of the Franks (b. 264 AD, d. 298 AD) [57th GF]. The Franks, at the time, made up the bulk of central Europe and became the name-sakes of the French.
King Clodion had one son, Walter Duke Of The East Franks (b. 289, d. 313). Duke Marcomir had a son, Dagobert, Duke of the East Franks (b. 300, d. 379). DukeDagobert had one son, Clodious IV of the Franks (b. 324, d. 389). Clodion married Blesinde de Allemanie (b. 328, d. unknown) [52nd GF/GM]. Clodius and Blesinde had one son, Marcomir, Duke of the East Franks (b. 347-, d. 404). The family tree continues for another 235 years to Pepin of Landen (b.582, d. 640, [46th GF) and Saint Itta of Landen (b. 596, d. 652) who was the 5th great father of Charlemagne (b. 742, d. unknown, 41st great grandfather).
